Price level = BEA Regional Price Parities 2023, all items (U.S. = 100). Factor = 1 + 0.6 × (price level / 100 − 1): labor and materials don't move fully with the general price level, so the adjustment is damped. Every national figure is multiplied by it.

How the calculator works
- Each repair has a national installed-price range from the sources in the table above (per crack, per pier, per foot of wall, per sq ft or per project).
- For per-unit repairs, the range is multiplied by your quantity; mudjacking and polyjacking never go below the usual $300–$700 minimum job.
- For whole projects, "smaller" uses the lower half of the range, "typical" the full range and "larger" the upper half.
- Everything is multiplied by your state's factor. Optional extras (inspection, engineer report, permit) are added on top.
The previous version of this page used national figures only and a general "severity" multiplier without a stated source. It has been replaced by sourced ranges per repair and a documented state adjustment.
What drives foundation repair cost
- Number of piers or anchors: the single biggest factor for settlement and bowing walls.
- Depth to firm soil: deeper piers cost more per foot.
- Access: work inside a finished basement or under a low crawl space takes longer.
- Excavation and restoration: patios, driveways and landscaping that must be removed and replaced.
- Engineering and permits: often required for structural work.
- Water: drainage problems usually need fixing at the same time.
Affordable foundation repair: ways to spend less
- Fix the water first. Gutters, downspout extensions and grading away from the house are cheap and remove a common cause of settlement and leaks.
- Act early. A crack sealed for $250–$800 is cheaper than stabilizing a wall that has kept moving.
- Compare the same scope. Ask every company for the method, the number of piers or anchors and the depth, so quotes can be compared line by line.
- Consider an independent engineer. A $300–$750 inspection can confirm whether a large repair is needed at all.
- Ask about the warranty and financing. Many companies publish both on their websites; we quote them on each company page.
